Week 6---Digital Storytelling Completed!

I am happy to say that my digital story-telling video is now complete.  Although, I did enjoy this project!  Working through this story step by step, I followed the same writing process that I expect out of my 3rd graders.  Now that I am more experienced with digital story telling I cannot wait to start with my class.
I created this digital story as an introduction about myself to share with my students at the beginning of the year.  I plan to update it every year and post it to my class website before school starts.  Students can get to know about me and 3rd grade before school even starts!  In the past I have done this as a Q & A session with my kids on the 1st day of school, I think that this will be an effective way to share information and hopefully get the students excited about making their own digital stories!

  1. I like the idea of using the photo story to introduce teh students to third grade. Have you shared it with your students yet? I shared mine with my students and they gave very enthusiastic feedback, you gotta love teaching elementary!

  2. I agree with Cathy, what a great way to make your students feel at home even before they start school in a new building. I think everyone can take away from your digital story how technology can give students a little comfort before starting a new adventure.

  3. I love the idea of not just personally introducting yourself to your students, but giving them a visual to go along with what you are discussing. I had wanted to do something similar at the beginning of the school year, but of course I ran out of time trying to set up my classroom, and do meetings in the weeks leading up to the first day. This next school year I am motivated even more to do it because of how well yours turned out!
